Anthem

Anthem by Ayn Rand is a strange book. Her characters don't use words that exclude fellow beings. The only purpose of life in Anthem seems to be that of "we."

The utopian world of Anthem can be summed up in a simple phrase: Ignorance is bliss.

Equality 7-2521's life consist of sweeping streets and keeping his individual interest to himself. He, unlike most others, has wants and needs. Equality 7-2521 wonders about the past and why he is among very few others that believe in something other than "we."

Ayn Rand delivers a greatly detailed and graphic picture of utopia goes wrong in Anthem.
