The Forever War

Journalist Dexter Filkins tells the most enthralling and thrilling stories of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Filkins was a journalist in the Middle-East from 2003 to 2006. He witnessed the rise of Islamic fundamentalism and the horrors in which it's believers committed in the name of Allah.

The Forever War is the most intriguing and insightful book I have read about the reasons mullahs and Middle-Eastern religious leaders have taken the role of extremists. Filkins describes the slums of Iraq in such great and frightening detail that even the most ignorant American can start to visualize the hardships Iraqis have lived through.

This is a great read for people who are curious about all assets of life in Afghanistan.
