Art of Persuasion

"Advertising if fundamentally persuasion and persuasion happens to be not a science, but an art.", so says William Bernbach.

Every achievement by anyone can be traced to persuasion. President Obama for example had to persuade millions of people to vote for him, to fund his campaign, and to even create the most massive ground campaign in American political history. President Obama was, and is, uber persuasive, for now anyways. Let's see how persuasive he is in a few years.

Persuasiveness follows character hand in hand. The more upstanding and moral a person is the easier it will be for them to persuade someone. Aristotle was quoted saying, "Character may also be the most effective means of persuasion." If a person, being a known thief, tried to persuade someone to lend them their keys or a few dollars, of course the thief will pay you back, do you think the person would lend them anything? I doubt it.

Without persuasion we wouldn't even do our homework, at least I wouldn't. As students we are persuaded to do homework with grades. You do your homework, you get a grade, and hopefully a decent one.

People like President Obama have mastered the art of persuasion. He's now the most powerful man in the world. Persuasion is common. So common we don't notice it.
